Summary

The Faculty Education Committee (FEC) in Occupational and Environmental Medicine (OEM) seeks an OEM Trainee to join as the Trainee Representative.

Description

The FEC oversees the Advanced Training in OEM program development and implementation, with key responsibilities including:

  • to implement the College’s Education Policies and Strategic Direction in training
  • ensuring standardisation and fairness in training delivery, assessments, and site accreditation
  • collaborating with stakeholders and advise the College Education Committee on education policy and program development as required, including monitoring and updating training program requirements and curricula
  • considering OEM specific Continuing Professional Development and other educational resources for members as required
  • undertaking other functions as required by the OEM Faculty Council, such as acting as a Review Committee pursuant to the Reconsideration, Review and Appeal By-Law and/or independently considering subordinate committee decisions relating to individual trainee or Fellow progress

Key responsibilities:

  • facilitate communication between the FEC and Advanced Trainees in OEM
  • advise the FEC on training matters in line with relevant College education policies and guidelines

The FEC holds one face-to-face meeting in Sydney and 2 videoconferences per year.

New members are appointed for a 3-year term, with the option to renew for a further term, or until the trainee becomes eligible for Fellowship.
