Description

Kaupapa o te Komiti | Purpose of the Committee

The Aotearoa NZ Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine (Aotearoa NZ AFPHM) Committee supports the professional careers of Fellows and trainees in Aotearoa NZ.

Working with appropriate College Bodies and staff in relation to medical education, policy and advocacy, Fellowship, and medical workforce to promote and support the practice of public health medicine in the Aotearoa New Zealand context.

There is vacancy for:

  • general members.
    Aotearoa NZ-resident Fellows of AFPHM with appropriate skills, background or geographic representation that can assist the Aotearoa NZ AFPHM Committee.

Takohanga | Responsibilities

The Committee holds up to 4 meetings a year, 1 kanohi ki te kanohi | face-to-face in Te Whanganui-a-Tara | Wellington and 3 via hui-ā-ataata | Zoom. Travel costs are covered in accordance with the RACP Travel Policy and Guidelines (PDF).

Most of the mahi will occur during scheduled hui. There is likely to be up to 2 hours of pre-reading required before kanohi ki te kanohi hui, and 1 hour prior to hui-ā-ataata | zoom. Members may be asked to respond to communication out of session.

Paearu Mātauranga, Paearu Wheako | Knowledge and experience criteria
  • be a Fellow or trainee of the AFPHM, who resides in Aotearoa NZ
  • high level communication skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to build positive partnerships
  • computer literate with access to a computer
  • ability and capacity to prepare appropriately and diligently for participation in RACP activities
