Full time – 1 Position

The Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre H&N Medical Oncology service is a national and international leader in clinical trials of cutting edge therapies for H&N cancer and cutaneous SCC. The H&N medical oncology fellow’s responsibilities will be focussed on the conduct of clinical trials as well as the delivery of standard medical oncology treatments for patients with H&N and skin cancers.  There are numerous research opportunities available. It will also be possible to work towards a higher research degree.

To provide high quality patient treatment and care, contribute to a research program and participate in education

  • Attendance to selected outpatient clinics and clinics in Day Ward
  • Completes all patient related documentation according to the Centre’s needs
  • Participates in after-hour and weekend cover roster for medical oncology
  • Liaises and communicates with the multidisciplinary treating team
  • Contributes to team meetings and educational activities
  • Actively and regularly participates in peer review patient related activities
  • Participates in departmental research projects and audits
  • Works effectively with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Close liaison with specialist members of the medical oncology Unit
  • Follows hospital policies and procedures

 

Essential qualifications

  • Medical Qualifications registerable by the Medical Board of Victoria
  • Completed at least two years of registrar level of training in medical oncology
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team setting
  • Ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships with medical staff and other disciplines
  • Previous clinical trial experience an advantage
